A quick word from Sid.

Two minutes on why CORE Foundations exists, and what it does for a new hire in their first year.

The Problem · The Program

The industry has a talent problem. Not a people problem.

Most organizations do a great job training on their company, products, processes and programs, and almost no one teaches how the industry itself actually works. That gap is what slows new hires down.

01

Without context, new hires drift

Talented people enter the Contract Interiors Industry every year with strong potential. But in a relationship-driven industry layered with complexity, product training alone leaves them guessing.

  • Feel lost in their first 6 to 12 months
  • Struggle to understand how decisions get made
  • Take longer to contribute meaningfully
  • Often disengage before they gain confidence

This isn't a capability issue. It's a clarity issue.

02

With it, they build fluency from day one

CORE Foundations gives new professionals what the industry has been missing: a clear, structured introduction to how the system actually works.

  • How the ecosystem works, manufacturer to designer to dealer
  • How projects actually move from idea to installation
  • Where influence lives, and how pricing connects to it
  • How market segments and contracts shape the work

So instead of figuring it out over time, they start fluent.

Three Principles · By Design

Simple. Structured. Scalable.

CORE was built around how new professionals actually learn, on the road, between meetings, in the cracks of a busy week. The format is the message.

Principle I

Simple.

Short, on-demand podcast-style lessons that average ~10 minutes each. Designed to fit working professional schedules.

No overwhelm.
Principle II

Structured.

Step-by-step progression. 14 episodes from the ecosystem to first-year mastery. Every episode earns its place.

No fluff.
Principle III

Scalable.

Reinforced by optional live Office Hours, small-group, conversational, designed to turn lessons into real-world application.

Just clarity.
The Curriculum

Fourteen episodes. From day one to fluency.

A complete arc, from "what is this industry, really?" through "how do I win my first year?" Each lesson stands on its own and builds toward fluency.

Sid Meadows
Built by someone who's lived it

Hi, I'm Sid.

I've spent the last 30 years in the Contract Interiors Industry, working across dealerships, manufacturing, and consulting. The thing I've seen over and over: smart, ambitious people enter this industry and spend their first year (or three) feeling lost. Not because they aren't capable, but because no one ever sat them down and explained how the whole system actually works.

I built CORE Foundations to be that conversation. Short, honest, structured, the version of the orientation I wish I'd had on day one.

Today I'm the Founder of Embark CCT and Co-Founder of The Collaborative Network. I'm a columnist for Viewpoint Magazine, an OfficeInsights Publication. I'm also the host of The Trend Report Podcast, your inside look at the people, products and ideas shaping the future of workplace design.

Frequently Asked

Questions, answered.

Who is this program for?

CORE Foundations is designed for professionals who are new to the Contract Interiors industry or are early in their careers, typically their first 0 to 3 years.

It's also valuable for career changers entering the industry who want to build confidence quickly and contribute at a higher level.

What roles is it best suited for?

CORE Foundations is role-agnostic because it focuses on how the entire industry works rather than a single function. It's especially valuable for:

  • Sales and business development
  • Design and specification
  • Project management and operations
  • Customer experience and support
What are the best use cases for this program?

A few scenarios where CORE Foundations works especially well:

  • Onboarding new hires in their first 90 days
  • Bringing career-changers up to speed quickly
  • Giving interns and early-career staff real industry context
  • Cross-training people who know their role but not the broader ecosystem
  • Creating a shared baseline before your own internal product training
How is this different from our internal training?

Most internal training focuses on your products, processes, and systems, and that's important. CORE Foundations focuses on something different: how the Contract Interiors industry actually works.

We teach the ecosystem, the roles, the sales cycle, pricing dynamics, and where influence lives, so your team understands the bigger picture, not just their piece of it.

How do Office Hours work?

Office Hours are live, small-group Zoom sessions. Two per month, $97/month, optional, cancel anytime. New enrollments get the first 2 months free as a bonus, then it bills monthly.

Is there a certification?

Yes. Upon completion, participants complete the CORE Fluency Review, a 15-question assessment of the foundational concepts. Pass at 80% to earn the CORE Certified, Contract Interiors credential, designed to be LinkedIn-shareable.

How long does it take to complete?

The program is designed to be completed in approximately 60 days, one episode per week, plus the Fluency Review.

What resources are available for sponsors / managers?

Sponsors receive a Leadership Companion Guide with discussion prompts tied to each episode, plus visibility into what their team member is learning and when.
